Business

The community will run a business as a separate legal entity. At this stage, it has been established as a non-profit incorporated association. In the longer term, it is envisaged that this may also become a registered cooperative in its own right.

The business will provide a focus for community activity and will provide an opportunity for the community to support its members by offering employment.

One part of the business will provide supplies to the community, as it acts as a hardware, food and grocery coop. However, its major thrust will be educational.

The business already runs courses and training programs. In the longer term, it is expected such courses will be offered both on-site and off-site, and be both residential and non-residential.

On-site guest accommodation may be used for its tourism and health opportunities, providing both leisure and convalescence in a relaxed recuperative environment.

Further details about the business, currently known as Equilibrium Community Ecology Inc, may be found at www.equilibrium.org.au.
